## How to get a transcript on iPad

1. Copy the YouTube link.
2. Open this page in Safari (or another browser), not in the YouTube app.
3. Paste the link and press Get transcript.
4. Copy the text, or download TXT, SRT, VTT, or JSON.

## Why not the YouTube app

The app is for watching. It doesn't write TXT, SRT, VTT, or JSON. If tapping a video opens the app, copy the link and paste it here in the browser instead.

## Where the file goes

Safari on iPad usually offers the file to Files. Other browsers use their download folder. Same rule on iPhone: browser, not the app.
