# YouTube to text

## How to convert a YouTube video to text

1. Paste the YouTube URL.
2. Press Get transcript.
3. Press Copy transcript, or download TXT.

## Copy and TXT have no times

Copy always joins the cue text into one block. The Together / Timestamps switch only changes the screen. It does not change the clipboard. TXT is the same words as a file.

- **Want the words?** Copy, or TXT.
- **Want times?** Download SRT, VTT, or JSON instead.
